Shoes and Craft

A shoemaker's blog about shoemaking

Did you know that my anchestor (around) in 1800 came to Hungary as a tanner? That was a highly appreciated job. Very recently I have visited a tannery, and those big barrels generated some strange emotions – not as my great-great grandpa would have from these “modern” stuff (those in the pictures are 100 years old), but the tannery itself. This is the last one in the country, which was famous about this craft. Sad.

So what does this picture tell you?
